This information is meant to be a helpful guide for consumers that are concerned about orangutan conservation and deforestation due to non-sustainable palm oil production in Indonesia and Malaysia. The companies listed below are members of the RSPO (Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil) and are committed to using certified sustainable palm oil. Please support companies that are doing their best to make a difference for orangutans.

Products made by Hershey’s and Mars are not orangutan friendly choices, as they are not members of the RSPO. Both companies have products that are consumer favorites like Snickers, Three Musketeers, Heath Bars, Reese Peanut Butter Cups, M & M’s and many more. If one of your favorite candy bars is produced by Mars or Hershey’s, take action by writing a letter and asking them to join the RSPO and be committed to using certified sustainable palm oil.

Stomp 'N' Chomp - Animal Enrichment Day

Get ready for pumpkin pandemonium at Fresno Chaffee Zoo!

Halloween at the Zoo is for the animals too! On Saturday, October 29 from 9am to 2pm, some of the animals will feast on pumpkins during Stomp 'n' Chomp. Throughout the day animal caretakers will give selective residents palate pleasing treats as part of the Zoo's enrichment program designed to stimulate natural behaviors in the animals such as foraging and play. Elephants, orangutans, and birds will be among the animals that will get a chance to pound, pulverize and partake of pumpkins.

The "gourd"geous treats is part of the Zoo's ongoing enrichment program to help enrich the lives of the Zoo's animals, promote natural behaviors, keep the animals mentally stimulated and provide added enjoyment for visitors.

Stomp ' n' Chomp is FREE with regular admission to the Zoo. Fresno Chaffee Zoo Members receive FREE admission.
